Dr. Baker Akad completed his orthodontic specialty training at Harvard University where he received a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Medical Science (MMSc). Prior to that, he earned his Dental Doctorate Degree (DMD) also from Harvard. He previously graduated with a degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA. Dr. Akad has taught at Harvard and was also active in the admission process by interviewing students applying to the University.
Since Dr. Akad strives to stay at the cutting-edge of the latest developments in the field of orthodontics, he always chooses to participate in numerous continuing education seminars. It is his goal to provide his patients with the best possible treatment that addresses each person’s unique needs and goals.
On a personal level and outside his clinical and academic involvement, Dr. Akad enjoys traveling, reading, movies and soccer (playing and watching). In addition to English, he speaks Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, and French. He is involved with some of the international humanitarian organizations such as Save the Children and Doctors Without Borders. He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including:
